The Capital HHH is a friendly mixed Hash that has been running at 6 o’clock on Mondays all year round since 1982.  We even allow the odd friendly dog or two to join us for the run ... with Mixo's permission.

What to expect/bring

  • yourself
  • running gear
  • warm/wet weather gear
  • expect a 1 hour run/walk
  • followed by a circle (usually outside)
  • followed by food catered by the hare
  • an hour or so of liquid refreshment and banter
  • in winter there is a fire bucket (now illegal)
  • in winter, we aim for a monthly restaurant run (ie indoors)
  • usually folds around 9 to 9:30pm
  • all for $10
  • a sense of humour is compulsory
  • as we are almost civilised, there is a minimum standard of behaviour which is outlined by the Code of Conduct which is currently under review

Our run sites are all over Canberra, Queanbeyan & Jerrabomberra so you tend to run in some of the best and worst locations we have to offer !!

Run durations vary from under an hour to much longer depending how much of a bastard the Hare wants to be. However, we always have a walkers pack as well, comprising walking wounded and slack old Hashers & Harriettes – and they mostly do a shorter trail to arrive home before the runners.

Just to summarise :

  • you can do the run
  • you can walk the runners trail with the cunning fast walkers (at risk of missing the drinkstop)
  • or you can do the walkers trail

As for drinks, there is usually a drinkstop and at the circle, the dray provides a vast array of beers, wines and the odd sparkling wine for the lush.  Ok, there is soft drink for the soft cocks.

So have a go – come along for a run or walk, and after its finished enjoy a drink (beer, bubbly, wine & softies) before listening to the friendly banter between the hashers during the circle after which food is served.

It can be quite an experience and costs only $10 which covers drink stop drinks, all beverages at the end and snack food.
